Google and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Well the first thing to do is make sure that Google and other search engines know that your site is there. Then use something called Search Engine Optimisation or SEO to ensure that your site ranks on page 1 of a Google search. So what is SEO? Search engine optimization (SEO) is the name given to the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines such as Google. SEO is an unpaid event that occurs when an Internet user enters a specific phrase or word in to the search engine. In most instances the higher or earlier your website appears in the search results list, the more visitors you are likely to receive from the search engine. SEO also allows us to target different kinds of search, including more local searches, image and video searches and industry-specific searches. SEO Optimization results in your website having a presence on the Internet.
Basically what this means is that you need to choose certain keywords that are relevant to your website and business. For example if you are an Electrician working out of Manchester, you would think of terms that a potential client would enter in a Google search. These could be - Electrician, Manchester, North West, Professional, Qualified, reliable, recommended. You then utilisise these keywords throughout your website so that when a potential client enters the search phrase "looking for a reliable Electrician in Manchester" your website appears high up on the list of organic search results on Google.
What MALDesigns will do for you is establish what your target audience is and what your business has to offer. This will then be used to create your keywords. These keywords will then be built into your websites text so that once the URL is added to Google and the other search engines the website will begin to appear. The higher you appear on a Google search the better chance of someone selecting your website. Ask yourself the question, when was the last time you got past page 2 on Google? Not often I bet!
If you already have an existing website that is not ranking on a Google search then let us know. We can have a look at the site and let you know what optimisation is needed and develop an SEO strategy with you so that you maximize your marketing capabilities. Quite often websites are setup to attract all Internet users rather than targeting those people that would be interested in you and your business.
Google Adwords and Pay Per Click
SEO is only part of the process. To maximise your website it is worth looking into Google Adwords and Pay Per Click advertising. Pay Per Click (PPC) through Google is called Adwords and these are the adverts that appear as sponsored links on the top of a Google search and also on the right side bar. rather than using SEO to rank on a Google search with PPC you pay to appear, however you only need to pay when some actually clicks on your add, not for each time it appears. This is an effective way of advertising your business on a budget. You can specify what your advert contains, if it is just text or video, what geographical location your prospective client lives in, what time of day you want your ad to be shown... You can control a wide variety of settings to ensure that you are directly targeting the people most likely to do business with you rather than just attacking the internet as a whole and wasting unnecessary clicks on people that were never going to be suitable for you.
